South ARBA-Madrid, The Collective The Espartal-Ecologists in Action Valdemoro, Gorse-Pinto Ecologists in Action and the Association of Local Native Fauna and Flora Torrejón de Velasco, have approached the former mayor of the European Parliament and Secretary General of the PSOE in Madrid D. Tomas Gomez Franco, to express their dissatisfaction with the environmental policy for years has developed in the town of Parla.
During his city councilman, their environmental policies has been characterized, contrary to that expressed by the municipal propaganda, by a manifest disregard for the conservation of natural areas of the municipality and its fauna and flora, as well as for the urban environment, which have been damaged regularly by true environmental attacks, in line with previous continuo aldermen.
Thus, these associations have pointed to the ex-mayor, promoted ecological numerous attacks during their municipal government, as the numerous developments built (Las Americas, Parla Este, El Leguario, Laguna Park) on irreplaceable natural areas due to their ecological value. In particular, urbanization Laguna Park, stands on what was the gap in the gallows or of the European Parliament until its development, being replaced by the ironically named Whale Park.

Therefore, these associations consider that environmental policy developed in the town of Parla, by the present Secretary General of the PSOE in Madrid, is not a credible propaganda in defending other planning and management natural environment, so we urge to create new expectations for sustainable development for the Community Madrid at the time of being elected President of the same, starting with environmental restoration and landscaping of the few remaining natural areas in the town of Parla, defending to the death also adjacent territories as mistreated and undervalued IBA Torrejón Velasco-drylands of Valdemoro, to the failure of the Community of Madrid to declare the SPA area. This would show that will provide new environmental policy for the region and by the way, a unique opportunity to enjoy iconic species.
